The Bar at the Crown Inn

Wadworth Beer LogoThe Crown Inn is a traditional English pub nestling in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside in the picturesque village of South Moreton. The Crown Inn has a deserved reputation for serving superb home-cooked food complemented by fine wines and cask conditioned real ales from the Wadworth brewery. Wadworth have been making a range of fine beers since the 19th Century and our bar provides a warm and friendly environment in which to drink them.

The Bar Billiard Table

Bar Billiards

We have a bar billiards table that provides gentlemanly entertainment to both regulars and visitors alike. If you would like to play a game with your friends just put a pound on the table and enjoy this traditional and highly skilled pastime. If you don't know how to play then ask the locals. The rules lead to a lot of fascinating discussion on how to end with zero points. Just because you can play snooker does not mean you are going to be any good at bar billiards. A first-timer at bar-billiards can often beat a snooker player on his first game.

Simon and Veronica Dallas - your Landlady and Landlord.

Simon and Veronica are the new landlord  and landlady of the Crown Inn at South Moreton.  Locals will recognise Simon as previously being the landlord of the Boot Inn at Aston Tirrold, rumours have it that during his tenure it was a thriving and fun place! Simon and Veronica aim to make the Crown just as much fun.

Simon and Veronica have recently renovated the bar area of the Crown Inn. Not only is there a new colour scheme but  the bar area has been reorganised providing a cosy area by the bar for our regular drinkers. The bar billiards table has been moved to the corner by the window giving players more elbow room! After the colour change the Crown is now brighter, feels more roomy and is certainly a pleasant place to spend some time.
